Episode 16 "The rich man and his wife"

<Storyteller> The shore line of Atlanta is quickly coming into view, the lights of the city are extremely bright and jaundiced from your point.
<Storyteller> As you sail closer you begin to notice that the lights seem to be flickering
<Storyteller> A strange odor fills the air, and as you draw ever nearer it get's stronger and stronger almost choking you.
* Brianna covers her mouth with her hands
* Gerard covers his mouth with a handkerchief.
<Brianna> "What is that?" Brianna asks one of the sailors
* Remy squints
* Friday shrugs
* Remy looks around for the source of the smell
<Friday> "It's Atlanta," he points to the flickering lights, "It still burns."
* William goes over to Erik
* Erik stares at the distant fires
* Brianna watches the shoreline as we get closer
<William> "When you are ready for me to help you I will." (to Erik)
<Erik> "Yeah..."
<Storyteller> The dancing lights are now closer and you can see that they are indeed barrow flames
<Storyteller> The dock is closer now and you can see several workers waving you in.
<Friday> "Captain, we are ready to dock."
* Nachabe does his job
* Brianna holds onto the rail and watches the land curiously
* Remy nods
<Remy> "By all means."
* Erik gazes at the flames
* William stands by the railing
* Gerard watches the flames in Atlanta and thinks its a pretty sight.
* William makes the sign of the cross as the ship pulls into the harbor and prepares to dock.
<Storyteller> The flames glow dull green and black, the smoke looks oily and sick
<Storyteller> The ship docks perfectly, and the crew tie her down.
<Gerard> "Now this looks like Hell. I have much to examine in this place."
* Brianna looks uncomfortably at the flames
<Erik> {William: You see? My influence is everywhere, and it is unstoppable}
<Dockworker> "Wecome to Atlanta."
<Dockworker> "Your'e here right on time."
<Remy> "We try..."
* Remy smiles
* Nachabe makes sure the ship is ok and then gets off the ship
<Dockworker> "We have the cargo ready, and the Worthington's should be here any moment."
* Gerard gets off the ship once it has docked.
<Storyteller> The ship is tied down well
* Brianna steps off the ship, feeling greatly relieved that they made it to shore without her prophecy coming true. For now, at least, they are safe from the horrible vision that plagued her.
<William> (This is not your influence. This is the unfortunate repercussions of a mortal's actions.)
<Erik> {William:Are you so sure? How do you know it wasn't I who sparked him to do it? I AM everywhere, after all...}
* Remy steps off. "What cargo?"
<Dockworker> "Why that cargo," the man points off to the left.
* Erik looks to the left
* Brianna looks curiously at Remy.
* Gerard looks around Atlanta's docks.
<Storyteller> Off to the left you can see several african men in chains, their eyes are cast downwards except for one who seems to be watching you.
* Erik takes a soft tone of voice laden with venom "You want us to transport slaves?"
<Storyteller> {Nach-Ah our african brothers in chains, a wonderful organization you work for.}
* Nachabe looks but then goes about his way
<Brianna> "Slaves??" Brianna asks Remy, a bit louder than intended
* Brianna folds her arms and stares at the dockworker with contempt
<Remy> "Dis is..no way."
<Nachabe> (Our kind enslaved ourself and this is the land of the dead. New Rules.)
<William> "This is not a slave ship."
<Brianna> "Who arranged this?" Brianna asks the Dockworker
* Gerard sees the slaves. "Well, this is the land of the dead."
<Dockworker> "Slaves? These are thralls, if we don't put them to good use..."
<Erik> "The name matters little...a slave is still a slave."
<William> "If you don't force them to do work for you they will be free. That's what they'll be."
<Dockworker> "Well it's on your statement."
* Dockworker says as he looks in his book.
<Erik> "I think...no...I KNOW there's been a mistake...this is NOT a slave ship."
<Dockworker> "Hey whatever you say, but I have a cargo to load so..."
* Nachabe sits on the rail of the ship and slowly shakes his head at the others
* Brianna wonders what we have gotten ourselves into
<Storyteller> The thralls stand there, heads down.
* William stands at the ramp
<Gerard> "I think all of you still forget that we are the newcomers to this land, and there ways are not like ours."
<Brianna> "What are we supposed to do?" *looks at Remy*
<William> "I believe you will have to find yourself another ship to do your filth work."
* Remy looks at his statement.
* Remy sighs
* Nachabe continues to watch this play out
<Remy> "Dis is no good, no good at all."
* Gerard looks for a store nearby.
<Brianna> "What is it?"
* Erik turns to Remy "I want some answers, frenchman...what the hell are we doing transporting slaves?"
<Remy> "It says right here that we are to transport, Bea and Rochelle Worthington, and their cargo to London."
* William stares at Remy.
* Brianna mutters something under her breath
<Nachabe> {Erik: Be carefull boy...he may put you in chains....or in the drink"}
<Erik> "And you never even asked what the cargo was?"
<Remy> "I can't believe dis."
<William> "People are not 'cargo'. They are passengers."
* Erik mutters "Let him try..."
<William> "There for we do not have to transport them."
* Brianna looks at Erik. "Neither did you..."
<Remy1> "I don't like this."
<Erik> "I wasn't around, Brianna."
<Gerard> Remy{Well, I see you are doing my work for a change. Your the one who is abusing individuals.}
<Nachabe> "Brother William...people have skin,blood, and bones...we do not...you forget where you are."
<Brianna> "And why was that?"
<Remy> "I have a question, are these thralls drones?"
<Erik> "That is none of your business."
* Dockworker turns to the thralls and begin to check them over
* Brianna retorts, "Then don't place all the blame on Remy."
<William> "Why?"
* Dockworker lifts up the head of a small child and turns her face towards you.
<Erik> "Because I'm busy you think that some blame could fall on me? Fuck you!"
<William> "He is the captain. He should have read the cargo manifest before agreeing."
<Gerard> "You fail to look at this reasonably. The people that died before us, Confederates, Romans, Celts, and many more had this institution long before you came here. Try and get them to stop this and you have a Civil War that makes World War 2 look like a food fight."
<Storyteller> Her emotionless, mindless eyes look through you, past you to somewhere that you cannot see.
* Brianna sighs and looks away, towards the Thralls, a sad expression on her face
<Dockworker> "See they are drones, mindless. If we didn't use them, they'd be food for Oblivion."
<Dockworker> "Might I remind you of your ship?"
* Nachabe sits on the rail and watches
<Dockworker> "What the hell do think that's made out of?"
<Remy> "Goddamnit."
* William looks at the child with pity in his eyes.
<Erik> "But...I mean...shit..."
* Remy paces thinking this through
* Brianna looks slightly sick
<Erik> "O brave, new world."
<Remy> "Alright, alright, but the next fucking statement better have what the cargo is on it, or no goddamn deal!"
* Erik smiles grimly
* Dockworker turns to his workers.
<Dockworker> "Load it!"
<Erik> "No man is an island, but he can be a ship, or a sword, or a wall..."
<Storyteller> The dock workers hurriedly load up the cargo, and put them in the hold.
<Dockworker> "Alright, the Worthingtons should be here soon, and I have other work to do here."
* Dockworker turns and leaves
* Remy turns to you each
<Remy> "I don't like dis any more than you all."
<Remy> "But he had a point."
<Storyteller> Off in the corner, Abe and Old Shep look on sadly.
<Erik> "You mean just because they can't think, we have to use them as slaves and furniture?"
* Remy sighs
<Erik> "Sure, no problem...I mean, who cares about some mindless peons...and then, when the definition of mindless gets changed to include criminals, or political dissidents, who cares, right? They're ONLY slaves and thralls."
<Nachabe> "It does include criminals."
<Gerard> "Well, that was the reason Nazis used Jews as slaves."
<Friday> "Ummm look, I..uh..I know the system needs some work."
<Erik> "Well, let's just wait until everyone gets whisked off to the slave pits...yippee..."
<Erik> "I give up..."
<Friday> "But hey it's better than Oblivion..right?"
<Nachabe> {Erik: He he he he good let them win...loser}
<Erik> "I don't know...I really don't know..."
<Erik> (You can't make a blind man see, Shadow)
<Nachabe> {No but you can dump him overboard and then let the oblivion take him eh'}
* William frowns and waits grudgingly for the slavers to arrive.
* Brianna folds her arms and sighs impatiently
<Brianna> "What is taking them so long..."
<Storyteller> A tall man walks up the plank, "Ahem."
* Erik turns to the man
<Erik> "Can I help you?"
* William turns to him
<Tallman> "A Mr. and Mrs. Worthington await permission to board."
* William scowls
<Erik> "Then let them board."
<William> "Bring them aboard."
<Remy> "Permission granted," sighs
<William> "I want to leave this place. It stinks, and I don't mean the smoke." William says looking at the dockworker.
<Storyteller> A southern man dressed in a grey uniform walks arm in arm with a beautiful blonde woman. She wears a long hoop dress, and a paraseol.
<Storyteller> They walk up the plank and onto the ship
* Nachabe continues to sit on the rail, his wings out from his back
* Brianna looks at the woman and wonders how on earth she manages to walk in that thing
<Beau> "Why good afternoon, to you all."
* Erik doesn't attempt to hide the contempt in his voice "How can we help you missus Scarlet?"
* William passes by Remy and whispers "Allow them to ride with the other passengers."
* Erik turns away
<Beau> "I believe my cargo arrived safely?"
<Brianna> "Good afternoon," Brianna says, trying to keep an air of civility in her voice
* Beau takes Brianna's hand
<Beau> "Charmed, my lady." and bows to kiss her hand
<Gerard> "Good evening to you both."
* Brianna nods her head, thinking that this will be a long voyage
* Rochelle offers her hand to Gerard
<Rochelle> "Why how do you do, sir."
* Gerard takes the lady's hand "Very well."
* William stands next to Remy.
<Beau> "Captain, my wife and I are very tired at this moment, and would like to retire to our room."
* Remy nods
* Erik whispers to William "They should be put in the brig for a few months..."
<Remy> "Erik, would you show them to their room, please?"
* William nods
* Erik hides a grin "Yes, of course."
* William turns away from the two and whispers to Erik "Let them stay with the other passengers."
* William walks toward the rear deck.
<Erik> "I shall also give them a tour of the ship."
* Brianna whispers to Remy, "Do you think that was a good idea? Erik is liable to push them into the water."
<Remy> "No, just take them to their rooms."
* Remy whispers to Brianna
<Erik> "All right..."
<Erik> "Come on."
<Remy1> "I trust him."
* Erik starts walking to their rooms at a more than comfortable pace
* Gerard goes back to his cabin and continues to work on things.
<Storyteller> The Worthingtons follow Erik down the steps
<Remy> "I trust him for now." whispers to Brianna
* Brianna looks at Remy. "I hope your trust is well-placed..."
<Remy1> "Alright everyone, prepare for launch."
* Erik leaves them at their room "If you need anything, just ask for me."
* Erik forces a quick grin then leaves
<Beau> "Why thank you sir," he says and hands Erik an oboli tip.
* Erik takes it
<Storyteller> The crew hurry and get the ship ready
* Erik goes back onto the bridge
<Nachabe> {Gonna shine his shoes too boy?}
<Erik> (No, I'm going to make his journey miserable, asshole)
<Storyteller> The crew finishes their preparations
* Erik goes back to staring at the fires
<Remy> "Let's get this show on de road, Nachabe, let's get the hell outta here."
<Nachabe> "Yes sir."
* Nachabe takes the wheel
* William looks down into the hold and takes out his bible
* William reads a passage from it and then says a prayer for them.
<Storyteller> The ship lurches out of the dock and begins to gather speed as it heads towards London
<Erik> "Remy had it right calling this place hell...look at those flames..."
* Friday shakes his head
<Friday> "Who could live there?"
<Brianna> "Who would *want* to live there?"
<Friday> "Umm well maybe not 'live' but you know what I meant."
<Storyteller> The Necropolis Atlanta begins to disappear in the distance, it's flames becoming the only thing visable in the darkness of the Tempest
<Lydell> "Captain?"
<Remy> "Alright. I don' like this any more than any of you." Remy produces the mission statement if he still has it. "It says here 'cargo'. Nothing of any type. I'm not sure what's goin' on, but the bullshit is piling up here faster than the Mississippi floods in de spring!"
* William closes his bible and puts it away
<Gerard> Remy{And your still doing my job, abusing people.}
<Remy> (There still is time to make ammends, shadowman)
<William> "It said cargo. Not Passengers."
<Lydell> "We may have a problem here. I went to check up on Nephrutu, the Amenti person? Well sir, I knocked on the door, and there was no answer."
<Lydell> "So I opened the door, and I found him sitting in the back of the room, just sitting there. Staring out into space or something."
<Lydell> "I asked him if he was alright, but he didn't answer me."
* Brianna looks over at Lydell
* William goes down to Nephrutu's quarters
<Brianna> "Let me see if I can find out what's wrong."
* Brianna hurries down to Nephrutu
<Lydell> You walk down the steps and head for his room.
* Remy nods to Brianna, but follows her as well
<Remy> "Don' tell me he opened the box..."
<Storyteller> The door is open a crack
<Lydell> "No he didn't."
* Nachabe continues to navigate
* Brianna knocks softly on the door and opens it
* William looks around
<Brianna> "Nephrutu?"
* William approaches Nephrutu and stares at him
<Storyteller> A a bald, naked man sits with is back to the wall, staring at you..through you.
<Brianna> "Excuse me William, I'm the ship's healer. Could you give me some room?"
* William steps aside
* Brianna slowly passes her hand in front of the man, looking for any sign of a reaction
<Storyteller> His eyes do not move
* William grasps his cross and speaks a prayer, in Latin, staring down into his soul.
* Remy pulls out a balance, and analyzes his corpus, to see if he's injured. <Usury 1>
<Gerard> Remy{Hey, know what would be a great idea. I get Emily killed, than make her into one of these slaves. Hows that for an idea?}
<Storyteller> Nephrutu is not injured
* Brianna focuses on Nephrutu, trying to see if he is hurt (usury 3)
* William frowns
<Storyteller> Nephrutu is not injured
* William repeats his prayer, more strongly than before
<Remy> (I have a better idea. Why don' you shut the hell up for a minute!)
<Storyteller> Nephrutu sits his hands on the box
<Gerard> Remy{Just think, your getting another cargo, and there is sweet little Emily staring at you with blank eyes. Doesn't even recognize you, and then you have to take her away to be sold.}
<Remy> Nach {So, Nachabe....did I forget to mention that racism is still rampant in the Deadlands? Oops....}
<Lydell> "He doesn't appear to be hurt."
<Lydell> "Maybe he's slumbering?"
* Remy looks angry. (You have to go through me first, Shadowman. I'll never give you control...)
<William> "He is free of the Devel's influence."
<Gerard> Remy {hehehe, I can get to her quicker than you can.}
<Remy> (I got some tricks up my sleeve yet, you bastard. An' I'm sure I can get there just as quickly)
* Nachabe hands over control of the Wheel to someone and then joins the others
<Nachabe> "Whats going on?"
<Storyteller> He is holding the box very tightly
<William> {Brianna: Ignore him. Let me have him. What has he ever done for you?}
* Remy waves a hand infront of the guy
<Remy> "You still in there?"
* Brianna looks at him, calling forth her powers to read the fates (fatalism 4)
* Brianna closes her eyes, a look of concentration on her face
<Remy> "Huh. I want to go check something out while this matter continues."
* Remy goes down to the 'slave pen'
* William looks at the catatonic man curiously
* Brianna blinks her eyes
* Gerard is still in his cabin, writing with a passion.
* Brianna frowns, staring at Nephrutu * William tries to take the box from the man's hands <Storyteller> Nephrutu stands
* William steps back
<Storyteller> He turns his head slowly to look at you
<Nachabe> "He shouldn't have opened the box."
* Brianna stares at Nephrutu intently
* William steps back
<Erik> "What was in there that's so deadly?"
<Storyteller> As soon as William releases his hands on the box, Nephrutu sits back down.
* William grasps the box again
<Brianna> "Nphrutu, are you alright?"
* Brianna is kneeling down by Nephrutu
<Storyteller> Nephrutu stands again and tunrs his head slowly to William.
* Brianna looks up at Nephrutu and William
* William grasps the box again
* William waits, ready to release it
<Storyteller> Nephrutu opens his mouth and a long high note emits from him.
<Storyteller> The sound almost sounds like an alarm
<Brianna> "Let go of the box, William!"
* Brianna stands up
<Brianna> "William let go. Now."
* William releases it
* Gerard stops his writing and comes on deck.
* Brianna looks at Nephrutu.
<Storyteller> The sound stops as quickly as it had come. Nephrutu sits back down
<Nachabe> "Um my suggustion would be to let him have the box."
<Storyteller> Remy you reach the slave pens, there you see a few guards standing next to the pen
* Remy looks at the slavers
* Gerard hears the sounds and goes to investigate, coming to the people checking out Nephrutu. "What's going on here?"
<Brianna> "Agreed. Ahuru left the box in the care of Nephrutu."
<Storyteller> The guard look at you then go back to their conversation.
<William> "We should leave someone to watch him. I don't believe there is a danger."
<Remy> "I want to check if de cargo is up to par. I have to check my shipment inventory." Remy says with a smile to the guards
<Storyteller> "There's twenty of them." says the guard
* William exits the quarters
* Brianna looks at William but says nothing
* Remy nods. "Need to check the quality, though."
* William glances down the hallway and sees Remy talking to the guards and approaches
<William> "Need a hand?"
<Storyteller> "Look we can't let you open the pen, ok?"
* Remy nods to william. "If you want."
<Remy> "Why not?"
<William> "It's our ship."
<Remy> "De slaves won't try anything. They're drones, right?"
* Gerard shrugs his shoulders "Fine, don't tell me. But keep it down because I am really busy getting this paperwork done."
<Storyteller> "Right, well. I guess it's ok."
<William> "We must insure that there is no danger to the rest of the ship or crew."
* Remy nods to the guards
* Brianna stares at Nephrutu for a moment before walking back up on deck

Brianna & Nephrutu
* Brianna stops and walks back to Nephrutu
<Storyteller> Nephrutu waits till everyone, but you are out of earshot
<Storyteller> He opens his mouth and notes begin to emit from him
* Brianna stops, puzzled
<Storyteller> The notes are beautiful, and you can feel the music soaring
<Storyteller> Beyond the grimness of death
<Storyteller> it makes you feel almost alive
* Brianna feels tears in her eyes and hastily wipes them away
<Storytelle> Nephrutu stops, lifts a hand to your face and puts a finger on your lips in a "shush" gesture.
<Storyteller> He smiles at you a little sad smile, and then his face goes emotionless and his eyes blank out
* Brianna stares at Nephrutu, confusion marring her features
* Brianna slowly walks out of the room

Back on deck
* Gerard walks back to the deck and stands by the railing watching the seas flow by.
* Nachabe returns to the Wheel
* William follows
* Remy makes sure the guards aren't watching too closely
* William checks the ones by the door, conveniently standing infront of the tiny window in the door
* Remy makes a move to check one, and leans over, and whispers "Can you talk?"
* William holds up his cross, touches the forehead of one and speaks a prayer
<Storyteller> They stare at you...mindlessly
* Remy lifts up the slaves arm, holds up his scales, and makes like he's checking reliability or something
* Remy continues to check, whispering to the men as he goes along
<Storyteller> None of them seems to notice you
* William walks around checking Shadows.
* Brianna slowly walks out of Nephrutu's room, eyes downcast, and makes her way back to her room

Meanwhile in Brianna's Quarters
* Brianna shuts the door firmly behind her and bolts the lock
<Storyteller> as you turn around you see one of the slaves in your room
<Brianna> "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
<Storyteller> He shakes his head
<Storyteller> he puts his his hands in the air
<Brianna> "Can you speak?"
* Brianna uses a soft, comforting voice
<Storyteller> He nods his head
<Brianna> "Stand up, no need to kneel in front of me."
<Storyteller> Slowly, cautiously he stands
* Brianna gasps
<Brianna> "You don't have a name?"
<Storyteller> "I am Alu."
* Brianna stares at him.
<Storyteller> "I was caught and brought here."
* Brianna walks slowly towards him
<Storyteller> He gets on his knees
* Brianna uses a soft, comforting voice
<Brianna> "Are they drones, like we were told?"
<Storyteller> He looks at you is if not understanding
<Brianna> "Nevermind. We have to get you off this ship."
<Storyteller> *knock**knock**
* Brianna calls out, "Who is it?"
<Storyteller> "It's me, Friday!"
<Storyteller> "There's a meeting in the Captain's office."
<Storyteller>{Brianna: Oh, the poor slave. Put him back in his sell where he belongs. He IS the property of the two passengers.}
<Brianna> "Alu, get under the bed. And stay here.. they'll be searching every part of the ship."

Back in the slave pen
<Storyteller> The guards watch you for awhile
* Remy walks out of the pen, debating whether to tell the guards there are only 19
* William walks out after checking all the Shadows
* Erik looks out over the horizon in the direction of New York, where his beloved Sam resides
<Remy> "You only got 19 of dem."
<Storyteller> "What!?"
<Remy> "You only got 19 of dem."
<Storyteller> The guards count franticly and begin curseing when they realize your right.
<Remy> "Guess dey weren't all drones...."
<Storyteller> "Shit!"
<Remy> "Don' worry. I'll have my crew get to finding him immeidately."
* William runs up to the deck
* William goes to Erik
* Erik turns to William
<Storyteller> "He could be dangerous!"
<William> "Some of them are missing."
* Erik chuckles grimly
<Erik> "Figures."
* Remy nods
<Remy> "I realize. I'll have my best men sweep the ship. If he's still here, we'll find him."
* William goes down to the quarters of the Slavers
* William pounds on the door.
<Erik> "I knew having slaves on board was a bad idea, but no one bothers to listen to me..."
* Erik begins searching the ship, starting with his room
<Beau> "Hello, is there a problem?"
<Remy> "I'll gather the crew right now."
<William> "We were assured all of them were 'drones!'"
<Remy> "Beau, gather the crew in my office."
<William> "One has escaped, meaning he isn't."
<Beau> "They were. We had the finest Monitors check them."
<Remy> "Yes, William. This 'renegade' will be approaprately punished, and returned to dees good gentlemen."
<Beau> "What! I don't want them harmed. You find them now!"
* William obviously could careless that one is wadering the ship. He's glad to have an excuse to toss these two in the brig.
* Remy nods
* Remy calls the crew to his office
* Erik is off searching
* William looks at Remy but holds his tongue
<Storyteller> The crew are all there, but Brianna and Erik
* William goes to the office
<Remy> "Mr. Beau, I realize your concern, but I have to follow protocol. I'm sure you understan'. I'm going to have to ask you to wait outside..."
<Beau> "Fine, fine, but I don't want my property harmed!"
<Remy> "I garuntee that this will be handled professionally, and you'll get your property back unharmed."
* Remy smiles reassuringly to Beau
<Friday> "I'll go get Brianna."
* Friday leaves the office to get her
* Remy nods
<Storyteller> Erik, so far no luck in finding the missing slave
<Remy> "Alright. I want this slave found. When someone finds him, you bring him directly to *ME*. Understood? I can change his looks, an' keep him safe. Don' tell the slavers any of this."
<Remy> "Team up in pairs of two."
* Remy assigns sectors to search
* Friday enters the office.
<Friday> "I told her."
* Remy looks to Friday. "Well?"
<William> "The slaver's manifest was false. We have good reason nullify it."
<Remy> "An'?"
<Friday> "I guess she's coming."
<Remy> "No, William. We make too many enemies that way."
<Remy> "An' you want to head back to Atlanta? Really?"
<William> "No. We dump them at the first port and free their slaves."
<Friday> "What?? And risk a Court Martial?"
* Remy nods
<Remy> "My way is better, William."
<William> "Only a member of your cohort can be court martialed."
<Remy> "I won' jepordize this ships crew if I can help it."
* Brianna knocks at the door
* Remy opens the door
<Brianna> "What's going on?"
<Remy> "One of the slaves escaped" Remy says, turing towards his desk, hands behind his back."
<Remy> "We're gonna find him."
<Brianna> "Oh dear."
<Remy> "Then we're going to hide him."
<Remy> "Alright, men, you have your orders."
* Friday goes to look for the slave
<William> {Brianna: Ooo....keeping secrets from them. I knew you'd see it my way. Don't ever trust them.}
<Brianna> "Remy can I talk to you before you go?"
* Remy nods to Brianna
<Remy> "Of cours'."
* Brianna waits for everyone to leave
* Remy nods to Brianna, and whispers very softly "Bring me to him. I can change his appearance."
<Brianna> "People will notice if a new crew member suddenly shows up on the ship in the middle of a voyage that wouldn't do much good..."
* Remy checks his charter to see when the next stop is
* Remy lets people search for the hour, and waits till they get back
* Brianna covers her eyes
*{Brianna} nods and goes to get the slave
* {Brianna} steps out the door, an evil glint in her eyes, but she's facing away and no one sees it
* {Brianna} goes to her quarters
* {Brianna} masks her evil glint
<Storyteller> You reach your quarters
{Brianna} "I'm going to take you to the captain's quarters. He'll help you go free."
* Brianna} says softly
{Brianna}"The Worthingtons are in their cabin."
<Storyteller> The slave gets out from under the sheets
{Brianna}"They won't see you."
<Storyteller> He walks over to you
<Storyteller> He nods at you gratefully
* {Brianna} cautiously lead him to the Worthingtons cabin, unbeknownst to him
* {Brianna} slips her hand in her pocket
* {Brianna} knocks on the door
<Storyteller> The door opens
{Brianna} "I found him."
<Beau> "Ah you found him!"
<Storyteller> Alu gets a sad look in his eyes, he suddenly runs past you.
* {Brianna} winks evily at the slave
* {Brianna} draws her gun and fires
<Storyteller> The shot hits the slave in the back, and sprawls across the floor.
* William runs into the hallway at the shot
* Brianna gasps
<William> "What was tha..."
* William sees the body
<Beau> "Good shot!"
* Brianna looks around wildly
* Remy runs outside
* William goes to the slave
<Brianna> "Oh my god...oh my god..."
<Storyteller> On the ground is the slave, he staggers to get up, but drops to his knees
* Erik runs in the direction of the gunfire
* Remy looks shocked
* William drops to his knees begins praying as he places his hands on the wound
* Brianna rushes over to him
<Remy> "Brianna?"
<Brianna> "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..it wasn't me!"
<Storyteller> He scampers away from Brianna
